Statement
My practice focuses on exploring the frictions, contradictions, and dualities that emerge in the relationship between the virtual and the real. In contemporary times, the construction of identity is increasingly mediated by images from digital culture and popular imagination, especially Japanese culture, whose global impact has been crucial in shaping new visual narratives. From this perspective, my work study the coexistence and tension between classical pictorial tradition and contemporary visual codes, merging tradition with digital aesthetics and mass media.
This hybridity generates new meanings within the image, establishing a dialogue between the internal and the external, the tangible and the intangible, the personal and the collective. The frictions that arise in this interaction not only reflect the impact of globalization and hyperconnectivity, but also reveal the ways in which we simultaneously inhabit multiple realities, oscillating between the physical and the virtual. Thus, my work invites us to reconsider how these tensions influence our perception and relationship with the world.
